The MBFC 8th Grade played Te Rerenga in Kuaotunu on Saturday. It was a lovely sunny day to kick off the first game of the season and all the kids got involved and had fun. This week our players of the day were Arlo Christini for his great playing and scoring a goal and Anabela Reilly for getting involved and showing great confidence even though this was her first game.
The Under 10 Orcas kicked off their season at home on Saturday with an exciting game against Whenuakite Red Rockets. For most of our boys it was their first competitive match playing on a bigger field & goals, and player positions — and what a start it was!
The team have made a great start adapting to the new style of football, showing great teamwork and energy from the first whistle. One of the highlights was a spectacular long-range goal from Carter, scoring from halfway and sending the crowd wild!
Two standout players earned Player of the Day honours: George Lawrence, who did a great job learning and sticking to his position, and Jack Fearnley, who showed amazing determination and chased the ball all over the field.
